During the prototype phase, I created a quick rig and animations for the character, enemies and the Boss. We have 4 different classes, so it was important for us to make it crystal clear who were you playing with. It took me about 2 weeks part time to get all right and done.
This was extremely necessary for starting the combat prototyping phase, as it was one of our main futures in the game. While the Art department was busy doing the final characters, rig and animations, I tried to vent some steam for them in order to not get stuck. We had a pretty nice back and forth iteration in design, defining the impact of the animations, timing, feeling and so and forth.
I did know none of this was going into the final version, so don’t judge me too hard on the anims! Thanks! 🙂
